Frequently asked questions

Straightforward answers about our trial, seat management, and billing policies.

How does the 7-day trial work?

Every new Solo or Team subscription includes a 7-day trial. A credit or debit card is required on file to prevent abuse, but you are not charged until day 7. You can cancel at any time before day 7 in your console settings with zero charges.

How are seats counted and managed?

Seats represent members who have access to your GroundZero Console to view risk scores, configure reliability rules, or approve change releases:

• Solo Workspaces: Exactly 1 developer seat tied to your personal GitHub account or username (no organization required).

• Team Workspaces: A fixed purchased quantity of seats (5 to 199) managed by your workspace Owner.

Pull request authors and Git committers never consume seats. Teammates, outside contributors, and automated AI agents can open pull requests and receive automated pre-merge AST risk checks without needing a paid seat.

What happens when adding or removing seats?

Adding seats takes effect immediately with a prorated charge for the remainder of your billing cycle. Reducing seats takes effect at your next renewal date, provided the new seat count is not lower than your current members and pending invitations.

Can I upgrade from Solo to Team?

Yes. If your team expands beyond a single developer, an Owner can upgrade from Solo to Team immediately. Your existing evaluation history and repository connections carry over seamlessly, and billing is prorated.

What happens if a payment fails?

If a payment fails, your workspace enters a 14-day grace period. GroundZero continues operating normally while payment retries take place. If unpaid after 14 days, the workspace moves to read-only status.

Do lapsed payments hold up our software deploys?

Never. In read-only status, historical audit trails remain accessible, and GitHub check runs complete with neutral status. GroundZero never holds or breaks a customer's deployment pipeline because of billing.

Where can I download VAT invoices or update card details?

Workspace Owners can open the self-serve Paddle Customer Portal directly from the console at any time to view invoice receipts, download VAT PDFs, or update card details.
